Love Lost

Love Lost

A Poem by Morgan Storms
"

We all go through it, we all are a part of it.

"
My love is a beautiful song in June
It's the summer wind echoing sweet whispers
Whisping tall grass as you walk along your path

My love are the embers in a fire
That at first were doused in fluid
Ignited with the single flick of a match

Our love is what was promised forever
Yet slowly the fluid dissipated
The underlying embers became cold and callous

No more matches were lit
My love was a beautiful song in June

Author's Note

Morgan Storms
I was writing, listening to the sounds of the rain this afternoon and I wrote this quickly, it seems to end abruptly to me on a personal level, however I would love your thoughts and any positive feedback. Thank you for reading and taking the time.

Beautiful write! The second stanza stood out the most to me with powerful imagery. But overall, you told a very true story from the heart. Maybe every piece of poetry we write is coated with little personal truths about who we are. But it's sad to know that not every love was meant to last or have a happily ever after. "What's meant to be, will be." And love is not something that survives if you must have to constantly fight tooth & nail for it. You can't force love to work if it wasn't meant for what your heart desires.
