Way of the World

Way of the World

A Poem by Phantom Heart

it's just time
time around the bend
the automatic
snap back to reality
same old tale of a story

in the absence
of love
there are literary gems
of abandon
and as time recedes
with illusionary empty nest

there is salvage
in truth
the ebbing tides
speak of forever
as the faces in the crowd
become a lost memory

in gaining knowledge
There are
Circumstances of doubt
discouragement
as minds ponder
the rotating night sky

A shadow of hypocrisy
is unambiguous
and futile
in the hands of progress
like a solo Sunday driver
with nowhere to go

A lot of great rhythm here... you have a great way of rounding things out... giving a full capsule of the experience.

Thank you! I hope you have been well too!
I absolute love the last line...like a solo Sunday driver with nowhere to go...kind of like all dressed up with nowhere to go. A shadow of hypocrisy most definitely.

I love this, I found it very moving. The meaning you put into the things of life is insightful. A wonderful read.
