simplicity

simplicity

A Poem by Alicia

tears brimming behind spidery lashes
heart pounding behind argyle print

a cashmere disguise
a hardwood surprise

mind thunking like an
unbalanced washing machine

eyebrow cocked in defiance
daring myself not to cry
daring you not to let go
