monopoly money

A Poem by Alicia

my heartstrings are loose
you've plucked them too hard

tattoo of a heartbeat
bruises my chest

insomniac memories
linoleum echoes of past
footsteps

without your skin crumpling the sheets beside me
i can't sleep
