Shrouded Goddess

Shrouded Goddess

A Poem by Lauren Burch
"

Which face of love speaks louder?

"

Maybe it really is something real
The beginning of the rest of forever
The start of the discovery of the meaning
Our meaning
Fingers locked
Lips locked
Hearts locked
Chained together shamelessly

Maybe it really is something fake
The end of what never happened
The start of the discovery of the downfall
Our downfall
Fingers locked
Lips locked
Hearts locked
Chained together shamefully

My everything, my love
Someone I can trust
An embrace before sunrise
“Here we are, my love
This world is ours
This life is ours.”

My nothing, my enemy
No one I can trust
An embrace after sunset
“Here we are, my goddess
This world is yours
This life is mine.”

True False Real Fake - they are one and the same
Life must be lived forwards - but can only be understood backwards
