*trigger warning if you don't like talking about death*

I think about death a lot. Not like how other people do though. It doesn’t welcome me and I don’t run from it. It’s just that i’m so interested it what death is like and how it affects people. Death brings on a wave of emotions which can range from sad to happy and variations everywhere in between. For me, I think about what it would be like if a family member or friend would die and I feel very distraught, but when I think about my death, it’s a wave of emotions. I wonder what it would be like to die and I wonder how it would affect people. I know some people would be sad for some time, but it really wouldn’t affect the majority of the population.

People say that one life matters, or your life matters, but does it really? I mean if you think about it everyone’s death is inevitable and everyone knows it’s coming, so why then is it so sad for some people? Even if it is sad at first, everyone moves on in some way. People have a strange way of moving on though. Some people talk about their feelings and slowly move on and others resort to the thing that is causing sadness in their life: death. But why? Why are humans so strange?

If you look at a person for long enough you start to see every flaw and you realize that this “normal” we live with is really quite strange. Some people cry at moments that others will not find emotional and it’s strange. People are built similarly, yet they are so different. Our brains are generally the same size and can store a certain amount of information and emotions and yet we don’t always understand other people’s emotions. Yes we have empathy and sympathy, but we don’t understand everything, yet we try and make it seem as though we do.

Think about your first language, or any language in this case, listen to the words. Don’t just hear the word and think about the meaning behind it, think about the sounds. Each sound is very foreign when it is out of place. If you think about it, every word is made up of sounds that were once foreign yet we now understand them somehow. If you look up the definition of “a” it is defined as “1. used when referring to someone or something for the first time in a text or conversation.” but what do the other words mean for such a simple word. Each definition can be broken down into words and then into sounds and everything has a meaning, yet it’s so confusing to understand.
