Not making,

Not going to make,

Your past doesn’t control you.

It doesn’t define you.

It isn’t you.

You are you.

So be you.

Now i’m not saying forget,

I’m saying leave it behind.

Your past is part of you,

Yes,

It has shaped you,

Guided you,

And changed you,

So don’t forget the place in which you came from.

You are amazing because of who you have become,

And your past is still part of you,

But letting go,

That’s one of the most amazing feelings you will ever feel.

Now letting go doesn’t come easy,

No,

There is a lot of work ahead of you,

But it will happen if you just let it.

So live in today,

Not yesterday,

Or the days before that,

Not tomorrow,

Or the days after that,

But today,

Because right now,

Today is happening,

Present tense.

Yesterday is history,

Tomorrow is the future,

And today shapes your future.

So nurture it,

Live in the moment,

Remember your past,

But act for tomorrow,

Because tomorrow,

Today will be history.
