Why do we care so much about materials?

When we look for a partner,

Though many of us won’t admit it,

We look for how much they have.

We should only care about that person,

Love their personality,

Cherish the time we have with them,

Because before you know it,

That person will be gone.

Love should be for a personality,

Not materials.

In this day in age,

Everyone is looking for someone who will be successful in life.

Not someone who will love us through everything.

Success equals how much “stuff” that person can acquire.

“Stuff” can be items they own,

Fame,

Fortune,

And all the other “stuff” in people’s lives.

So why should material matter?

Why should we be materialistic people?

Why can’t we be happy with what we have?

Why can’t we be happy with nothing?

I could go through life with nothing,

As long as I have someone to share my nothingness with.

People are what matter,

Not money,

Not fame,

Not materials.
