The Writer's Oath

The Writer's Oath

A Poem by Lolita

I'll write.

I'll write
until the Sun ceases to
paint my world with august colours.

I'll write
until your breath fills me
with life anew.

I'll write
until I reach the end of the long
and winding road.

I'll write
until you come before me
with a poem and a rose.

I'll write
until the Spirit takes the place
of fire and burns.

I'll write
until I resolve the difficulty
of Being.

I'll write
until there is a way out of
this Love.

I'll write
until the pain and suffering stop.
Will they ever?

I'll write
until the Sword conquers the
Pen.

But that might never
happen; for the Pen will reign
as long as I'll write.

About
I once heard that C. S. Lewis said, "we read to know we are not alone." I suppose we also write to know that we are not alone. A naiad of sorts; passionate about art, nature, and words. more..
