The Clouds Love Us

I see the clouds and I know they want to be with me,
they make their imitations,
inflated caricatures of us,
they want to walk the terra firma.

Just as we look to they sky as children in wonderment of the white,

sometimes Gray,
often colored puffy friends,

swimming the blue ocean of the sky above,
the clouds look down on the green,

blue, sometimes brown ground below and wish they could trod there,
I know this by the imitations they make.

They know who we are they don't confuse us for trees or airplanes,
they don't make supplicant images of those,
only the living creatures of the earth below do I see them make,
that is how I know they wish they were us.

They store up, rain, snow, lightning
to throw down to the land dwellers,
sacrifices made to the Gods below,
they curry our favor and dream for a day
to be living, breathing and moving about,
the ground under their feet.

The clouds love us,
I know this by the hearts,
the caressing hands I see them use
to imitate what the land Gods show them every day.

Yes the clouds know us and want to be with us,
I know this because every time I walk below,
or fly above,

these great imitators of ground dwellers,
they share their love for me

inverse imitation of continent's,

faces, sharks and horses

they touch me and give me sorrow,
as I know their plight,
their wish will never end nor be granted.

Thank you sky dwellers for all that you give to me.
