Words Want to be AdmonishedA Poem by lleeIf you post here, I believe you will understandWords Want to be Admonished Why perchance to dream when the dream is too big to put my head down and settle when the cold wind of doubt blows I retreat from my obligation. Passion for and love of, the word, the phrase, the simile and metaphor they bite at me, tear at my soul to be released, admonished, in screams of ink on a page. Reverberation of the prophetic and simple pleasures of thought words on canvas that please the ear soothe the worn gird the weak poke the lazy minds to stir. How is it that we with the gift, the curse, look the other way while the stern hand of articulation pushes our heads back towards the painful deep and dark place where dwelling thoughts turns of phrase, crave the light, burn into our minds then fade. I have forgotten more poetic and twisted lines than most will ever know yet here I am, selfish, afraid, confused and baffled utterly, silent. © 2013 llee |
