A Poem by Lloyd

Can this silly childhood notion be fulfilled?
Or shall the world once again force freedom down.
I acknowledge that the world has become quite cold,
But alas I still feel and see its’ possibilities.
When did we its’ caretakers stop caring?
Perhaps we never cared and all this time
We’ve been selfish creatures devouring it.
I laugh, for laughter is all I can muster
In desperate times such as these,
But people believe me when I say
That life without amazement is not worth living.
Yet still I watch the news everyday
For any evidence of my Uncle or cousin.
Both are fighting a war that has no end.
And my words are left to the wind.
