A Poem by Laura Lynn Close

These words are my own, the plus minus people factor was something an old man spoke of and now I see there is birth and it's opposite pulling at the poles of the planet. What struggles people will go through to keep their own to themselves and the ones they love. The man I want to cherish for that time, how can the stars ask me again to let him go and fall into the abyss? I want him to be happy and free, but how can I if I thought he was a world and no one would want to pull me away.

Earth I am yours. Planet, I belong to you, and all its mountains and rivers. You are my society.
What purpose does this blood serve that is no child but a mark of rejection of my meager soul and its body. What would the result be, how could matter coalesce but more like put things together in an aesthetic way or shape?
