A Chapter by Laura Lynn Close

Today there was a food truck lunch for employees.  Everyday I worry about so many things.  I am working on a blanket which is made of crocheted brown sparkle hexagons with green edging.  It makes me feel as though I am accomplishing something.  I am determined to write an interesting poem, one that is full of poetic promise, inspiration and good words for humanity.  I work now at the hospital as a greeter from 2-6p.m. Mon-Friday.  Today is Wednesday.  I have only worked out once this week so far.  I really ought to work out again.  Tonight my son has a music lesson, but it is Anthony's day off.  He invited me to his birthday party that he is planning.  I would like to be able to go.  Hopefully it is a time I will be available.  I need to continue to do the laundry and give away things on the back porch so it is as clean as possible.  I need to vacuum and find the book I rented from Amazon.  Otherwise I will have to pay for it.  I have no idea what my life's goals an ambitions are.  I do not feel like a career woman.  I still need to read and write a book of some sort, but I have so much research to do to be able to come close to finishing or even beginning the project in earnest.  I'm still looking for the kind of book I could write.  I don't have the right contacts etc.  Just to be able to write a good poem is a real challenge.  I have to find some poetry that really speaks to me and respond to it.

They always say there's a book in everyone waiting to come out. It'll come.
