Forgive me

Forgive me

A Poem by Indigo Ribbon

A scorned heart, and dried up tears
were left on the pavement
the soft hand, once so comfortable against mine
is gone, leaving me cold, confused, cruel
Forgive me for hating you
For hate is the only emotion left

The clouds used to come and leave
their intricate pattern of light and dark
a stunning sight, long lost
the sun strikes, a harsh light upon my face
leaving me missing you, missing winter
Forgive me for our dreams are long lost

forgive me, for thinking I could watch you
walk away, with her at your side.
Forgive me for loving you
But, hate, love, sorrow, joy
they tangle, their threads caught up in one another
Forgive me, because I no longer know
love from hate
sorrow from joy

Indigo Ribbon
The winter, harsh as it might be, is beautiful, even though you might break, the ice, the cold, the beauty, leaves me speechless

I love the feeling of regret juxtaposed with bitterness in this poem. Good job.
