Past and Present

Past and Present

A Poem by Indigo Ribbon

Careful

Taking a step forward

waiting for the last to end

always hoping for the past

to come forward

twisted memories

slipping from my grip

Can't help wanting

to leave the past behind

to never look back

I can't tell

the past

the present

seem to be bundled up

seemlessly tied together

In a mess of knots

i can't undo
