Breathing in Water

Breathing in Water

A Poem by Indigo Ribbon

taking a breath from life

is the hardest thing I can do

yet everytime I try

it fails, and my lungs collapse

fillinq with an icy cold liquid

trapping my words

behind a barrier

of excrutiating pain, of harsh words

trying to escape

I'm tip toeing

over the remains of my glass heart

with ever step i take to move on

the throbbing pain reminds me

of how I got here in the first place

Author's Note

Indigo Ribbon
written in the spur of the moment. I realize that it takes me a while to write poems, but when i do they are true emotions based on things in my life in which I need to put into words for lack of a better way to deal. So anyways, enjoy
