Do you Forgive me?

Do you Forgive me?

A Poem by Indigo Ribbon

It seems this guilt silently overwhelms me

as we sit here day by day

and all I can think of to say is

I’m sorry

but I know that doesn’t cut it

it doesn’t cut it at all

And I wish I could take some of that disappointment

and throw it out the window,

throw it back in those judgmental faces

but I know it’s not something I can do anymore

well at least not

when one of those faces is yours.

I’d say forgive me

But I know I’m asking too much
