The moment

Life's moments of despair also find light

It's the moment that the heart breaks,
And the world begins to fade,
The moment when the music stops,
Another song not played.
The moment when the magic,
No longer fools the youth,
And all the happily ever afters
Dissappear behind the truth.
The moment when the anger dies,
And all that's left behind,
is a shadow full of emptiness,
And a soulful, lonely cry.
It's in these very moments,
That we reach deep down inside,
To find a single ray of light
From the innocence that died.
And from here and ever after,
the strength pain leaves behind,
Will fill the mind with wisdom,
and the soul will gently shine.

these lines are lovely and show so accurately the bittersweet power of age. sometimes i wish i could hold myself in childhood and innocence forever to maintain the wonderment at such small details in life; this poem captured that sentiment incredibly well. great work!
