A Story by kainat zahra

“Mom it’s not fair, you always give my things to her. It’s my cap, how can she wear it?”  “My love, it’s ok she’s your sister. You both can take each other’s stuff”.  “No, I won’t share anything with her. You and dad have changed since she came into our lives. She has replaced me, I hate her, hate her, hate her”. “Don’t say like this, honey, we still love you. Don’t be jealous of her, you both are sisters and equal for me and your dad. Look at her, how cute she is. Remember? You had a doll like…” “please mom, don’t make stories now. I know the truth”. While leaving with the rage and fire of revenge in her eyes, she slams the door - ‘banged!’

The scene shifts in her brain with the bang of the door and takes her to the day when everything was hustled.  “Have you seen your sister? Where is she? Hurry up! Look in the balcony. Go! Why are you standing still, hurry up!”. “Mom I’ve found her”. “Where is she? Tell me”. “Look, she is down there, on the road. But I don’t know how can she go by herself as my doll Jumped when I was carrying her and found there, at the same place. Remember?” Will she not wake up like her, mom?”, chuckled as she said.

Lying in the bed, she opens her eyes widely that were tightly closed as if they couldn’t bear the burden of the flashbacks. But there was a malicious grin on her face and still murmuring “Will she not wake up like her, mom?”
