When I told a stranger online that I love poetry he asked if I could write something off the top of my head. I wasn't sure, so I tried.

He asked me a question
So hard to ignore
About this poetry I claimed to adore

I read his question as I lied in my bed
He said write me something
Off the top of your head

I felt that I must
Just to prove I'm invested
So I began to write
Challenge accepted

My head began spinning
How long should it be?
Is this just the beginning?

It's amazing that he 

Was able to inspire
A wonder that 

My muse didn't tire

As many times as I've struggled
To create something new
I guess a rhyme was long overdue

Well I think this should do it
I don't need to write more
What am I even proving this for?

Maybe I figured I should
Just to prove to myself that I could

Write a poem on cue
Off the top of my head
Write a poem for you
As I lie in my bed

Writing peoms off the top or your head usually brings great emotions in to it, since the pen is just there to capture the moment. Anyway, keep writing.
