Lonely

Lonely

A Poem by Lizzie Mitchell

There are times when the silence becomes painful
It slithers up around you
constricting you
blinding you with pain and sheer terror
Hungrily it squeezes out your last breath
Then
suddenly as it came
It is gone
It leaves you gasping for breath
The panic is gone from your eyes
The pain disappears
You feel small, empty, helpless,
ALONE
