The Price Has Been Paid

The Price Has Been Paid

A Poem by lizc0123

Excrusiating weight,

won't determine my fate.

No further will I carry,

these things that I hate.

To be rid of the pain,

and the powerful drain.

I take all that I have,

to the place you were slain.

I lay them all down,

beside my thorny crown.

I will bear no more sorrow,

no more shall I drown.

Once defining my days,

I was kept as their slave.

But you never once left,

you did not turn away.
