My Wishing Bones

My Wishing Bones

A Poem by lizc0123

In a line, they sit in rows.

Intent was to dry out the bone.

They rest there waiting patiently,

for me to wish then set them free.

To one another, they are bound.

Cannot move until I've found,

another hand to help me break.

Separate them for freedom's sake.

How I envy their companionship,

two souls connected at the hip.

I'll keep on searching for the heart,

to love me and set them a part.
