This Is To the GirlA Poem by L LopezThis is to the girl that rightfully made me cry, Is to the one that made me
want to change my life, To the one that told me to
stop living a lie, To the one that pushed me
more then I’ve ever tried. When I saw you first, I
paused, you had caught my eye. You had this beauty and
sparkle when you smile. This strong attraction
made me want to give a try, And get to know you and
hangout for a while. Gave in to desire shortly
after saying hi, Sex so great it was an
offer I could not decline, Yet I learned that I loved
what you had inside, So much goodness, I knew I
had made quite the find. You were more then just
some girl this I can’t deny, So many moments we spent
sharing our lives. The concept of us I had to
solidify, I remember that shower
when you became mine. All those months together,
are love didn’t go dry, Doing what we wanted,
going at our own pace, We had all fun and
excitement making time fly, Summer ended and our next
move we had to face. Thinking of my love for
you I would always sigh, I knew nothing could undo
what we’d built thus far, Yet feelings got shaky
like a tower built too high, Vision obscured by thick
smoke like that of a cigar. To know the reason things
changed we have to ask why, But there are not always
answers to our questions. I really hope that this is
not a last goodbye, How to be friends, well
I’m open to suggestions. Us didn’t work out, our
end it doesn’t imply, For I still care for you
and want you in my life. This is to the girl that
with me will not be shy, To the one I hope to never
have any more strife. © 2011 L Lopez |
