A Poem by L Lopez

Climbing into bed, she lay down to sleep,

But all she could do now was think and weep.

Longing to satisfy the yearn of her beating drum,

She listened and heard nothing but the same old strum.

Covering her eyes and closing her ears,

In the darkness flashed the wasted years.

And the thought of a better tomorrow died,

All because the whole mother f*****g world lied.

And with one hope remaining, never to wake again,

She bid goodnight to her one and only friend.
