Kim Kardashian: Bold Fashion Statement or Fashion Blunder?

On Sunday, Kim Kardashian stepped out with her husband, rapper Kanye West, wearing a backless white sweater and denim shorts, what some might call a bold fashion statement and others might phrase a fashion blunder. They were enjoying their Sunday in Calabasas, California, hitting a movie at the Commons and grabbing food at a Taco Bell.

The type of sweater or top that Kim was wearing was the type that might be the best kind to wear in warm weather, one that is open-backed �" yet, why wear a sweater at all in warm weather? An open-backed sweater looks more like a sweater that has not been completed rather than one which is trendy.

Cut-off denim shorts are perfect attire to wear in warm weather, at least, though they did not look like new ones Kim Kardashian bought, but rather like an old pair of bluejeans she had cut at the knee. In other words, Kim definitely has the money, so why go out in public wearing shorts that look like ones that might be found in a thrift shop or a yard sale, especially knowing that the media might be attempting to snap photographs of just such a rare fashion blunder?

Kanye, by contrast, dressed casually, though in much more subdued attire. He was wearing dark pants, a grey T-shirt and camel-colored boots. He seemed to like how Kim looked, though, as she was showing a lot of skin and her shorts were pretty tight on her ample behind.

Their daughter, North West, who is 16 months old now, was not with them on Sunday. They took her to a pumpkin patch on Saturday, though, along with Kim’s mom, Kris, sister, Kourtney, and her children, Penelope, two, and Mason, four.

Tuesday, Kim Kardashian will be celebrating her 34th birthday. Kanye proposed to her a year ago, also on her birthday. Her big public birthday party celebration, though, will not be until on Friday, when she and her family and friends will party down in Las Vegas at the TAO nightclub. According to E! Online, Kim also celebrated her 29th, 30th and 33rd birthday at the nightclub.

The cheap seats for the affair at the Venetian Hotel and Casino’s TAO nightclub will run just $30, but the more expensive tickets for Kim’s birthday blow-out are $5,000. That price is for the so-called “platinum package,” and whatever that includes.

Another big date coming up for Kim Kardashian is when she makes a cameo appearance on the season premiere of 2 Broke Girls (CBS), which will air on October 27. Also, on October 29, she and her sisters Khloé and Kourtney will be at Lipsy London, introducing their fifth Kardashian Kollection at the posh store.

Was Kim Kardashian making a bold fashion statement or a fashion blunder when she stepped out on Sunday with hubby, Kanye, to attend a movie and eat at Taco Bell in Calabasas, California, dressed in an open-back white sweater and cut-off jean shorts? It was a casual occasion, no doubt; but, is anything backless really a good idea to wear when sitting in a movie theater seat, where who knows who was sitting previously? Ah, well �" everyone is entitled to feeling and looking comfortable, and if that is what Kim Kardashian wanted to do on Sunday, she likely attained that goal.
