Purple HazeA Poem by Sarah JeanWe are all in search of the unknown.Purple haze, a vast abyss thick with smoke. Unending, time is a distant concept. 'What are you looking for? Things are not always as you believe them to be.' Echoes of whispering voices move languidly in the purple haze. Ghostly figures move with ease through an endless smoky veil. A frozen touch fills you with warm familiarity. 'I know you,' the words escape your mind. 'Yessss,' Like the drawn out hiss of a snake, the word stretches through you and the figure fades away. Enamoured, You're searching for something. Drifting through the discoloured bruises of the purple haze, a voice strikes you through the endless smoke. 'What are you looking for?' 'I don't know.' The smoke thickens and licks your wrists. 'Then,' the voice surrounds you, 'how will you know when you have found it?' Darkness. 'Where am I?' 'Here, is what you have been searching for.' 'I see nothing.' 'Open your eyes.'
