A Human's Monologue

A Human's Monologue

A Poem by Lizardo
"

Another new thing

"

I'm just flesh and bone

Nothing else than a star that’s gone

Nothing more than a dream come true

What is life? What is space? What is time?

A fogged shrouds my true intentions

Nerveless I must control my thoughtful emotions

They may end my world's notion

Therefore I sit under the sky

Watching what there is left to find

Waiting for a signal of life

Waiting for my heart to ignite

I am nothing more than thoughts

My heart is muscle that needs to fight

My brain is the center of the endless night

Because watching the people around us

Isn't worth our time  or there's to be worth

Because you are just sitting or walking or thinking

Yet you don't know what you are making or dreaming

Therefore I say out loud to our world

A world that was given from God:

"I am nothing more than flesh and bone,

I may be a thought walking in a dream,

I'm not real nor a muse, I am me

I don't know where home is

I cry when I forget who I am

I feel sad when I'm alone

I am not real nor am I a thought

I'm just a walking soul

Trying to drink water at night

For my endless flight"

Lizardo, how have you been, man? Great poem as usual filled with a challenging thought. I really wonder what you're trying to say with the line "I'm not real nor a muse, I am me" that's kinda intriguing. anyways, have a great time!

Thank you!
Try being a focal point in the universe which the poem tends to give you. Strong writing, conceptual, holds a reader's interest.

You are welcome. I always enjoy your work.
I think that this poem encourages us readers to go and do some self introspection. Beautifully worded and amazing concept.

IT has the feel that makes us calm and makes us want to just look beneath the obvious and see the truth. Because, in the end, we are all just ordinary humans who are trying to make a difference that makes our standing out of ordinary...

Loved your writing. :)

That is very true, thank you Valentine :)
Holy crap Lizardo - you churn out gems like I churn out turds my friend.
The line "My brain is the centre of the endless night." - made my jaw drop.

This is very existential yet filled with aspects of faith - its really quite complex. Well worth another read (or three). Class musings. :)
