Monument

Monument

A Poem by Lizardo
"

A monument for everyone who deserves a prize for living life and giving life

"
Where are the monuments?
For our lost dreams
For the people
Who got lost in them
Who bet on them

It was and fame
Fame it was
That destroyed
Those monuments
They got lost
They corrupted each other
Is their anybody there?

Who really has a worthy Soul

Hey, where are we?
Are we standing on water
Like God
Or are we standing on earth
like the Devil
Full of Sin

Where are those Monuments?
For those who fought bravely
For those who reached their dreams
For the ones were great parents
We need things to change
Is their anybody there?

Who has a worthy Heart

It was corruption
Who brought down earth
Where are those heroes?
Who risk their lives
While the bad ones
Are living making this world
Fall

Heroes are born from nowhere
As well as geniuses
As well as history came out of nowhere
Where are those heroes?
Hiding deep inside their dreams
Inside their dreams

Where are those monuments?
Where are they?
Is their anybody outside?
Anybody there?
Anybody ?

We put superstars on pedestals for no reason. Most of them haven't done anything productive in this world that would move it positively. It's all about the simple folks that should be respected, admired, loved, valued. They are the ones who protect us, teach us important values, move mountains, make this world a better place. You ask good questions. You stimulate good thinking.

I found a few errors. Here are my suggested corrections:
-Stanza two, line seven: Is "there" anybody there?
-Stanza five, line four: For the ones "who" were great parents
-Stanza five, line six: Is "there" anybody there?
-Stanza nine, line three: Is "there" anybody outside?

There is a troublesome angst in the man with sensitive eyes. You can dream, hope, pray and offer a helping hand but the angst shall always remain.

I feel your passion Lizardo!

Regards,
Al

The purpose of monuments is to help remember so we do not forget but what happens when monuments are never erected then what? Does that monument fade in the wind never to penetrate the mind, heart and soul. We need monuments to help us remember so we never ever forget.
