I Drive Fast In My Car

I Drive Fast In My Car

A Poem by Lizardo
"

This is very random

"
Time to get out of here
I'll drive fast in my car
And never look back
Far away
From the endless streets

I don't drive the car
I make the car drive itself
In the Underground road
Where dreams come true

I'll go fast in my car
And drive far away
Before night sets
At the end of my sleep

There's a race to the sky
Who is going to get there first?
The winner will win the eternal sleep
While the looser will get the endless dream

I go fast in my car
And never look back
Drive far away from the street
And raise my hand up to the sky

I'll drive fast in my car
Before night sets
At the end of my sleep

You tried something new, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that it paid off TREMENDOUSLY. I don't think there is a single person on this planet that can't relate to this poem at some point in their lives. We all want to drive fast in our cars at some point. Honestly, this is quite a creative piece you've written! :)

Thank you so much Dan! and it's true, at some point we all want some situations in life to go fast

I am getting a dream - going faster than anyone, any time, ever. But, the underground road, where dreams come true ties that dream to, well, truth, reality, the raw, rough and ready, real world. Then, a race to the sky ... trying to get into heaven ... at the end of my sleep ... at the end of my life, which is a sort of dream when you're on the other side ... the car crash is missing, but, who would want to remember that part anyway? It must have been a head on collision - well, at least there were two involved, not like a tree or a wall, because I've got a winner and a looser and it doesn't sound like anybody is going to wake up, what with endless sleep and eternal dreams. Maybe you're driving too fast for me. Or, am I just dreaming? It was a wild ride and I enjoyed it. Can somebody, please, tell me what's going on?

I liked it.

I would love a writer's commentary on what this stanza mean't to you whenever you wrote it because I feel that this is the most important stanza that makes up the meaning of the whole poem.

I think it works. There is a sentiment about running away that is present throughout. Maybe a little polish needed but the theme works.

You're welcome!
A lovely idea, to be going so fast it seems the car drives itself, to race in the "Underground road to dreams"

Interesting. A race to the sky, and yoy can win it, if you drive fast enough. But it sounds like a dream.
