A Christmas Dance

A Christmas Dance

A Poem by Lizardo

He was sitting in his chair
Alone, while his family was dancing
He didn't like to dance
And nobody looked like they wanted to dance with him
Well the truth was
He couldn't dance
Not even a single step

While he watched all of the people dancing
A girl arrived at the party
He was perplex of how beautiful she was
She looked like an angel

As the minutes passed by
He was thinking about something
He wanted to invite her to the dance
But if he couldn't dance
Then how is he suppose to invite her?

The girl came and sat by his side
''Hi'' she said
''Hi'' he answered, feeling nervous
''Would you like to dance with me?'' she said
''Oh, okay'' he answered
But he got nervous
How was he going to dance
If he can't take a single step

When they were at the dance floor
He told her the truth
''The truth is..''
''I can't dance a single step''
She stared at him for a moment
Then answered
''It's fine, Let me teach you then!''
''Don't worry just follow my steps'' Said the girl, smiling at him

The danced until 1 AM
They got tired of dancing
It was time to go
''When am I going to see you again?'' the boy asked with sadness of his face
''On Christmas! you and you're mom are officially invited to our christmas party!''
That relieved him
''Thank you'' He said
''You are welcome'' The girl said
They gave each other a hug
And then
They waited eagerly for December 25
The day that they would see each other again
