Sanddollars PredicamentA Story by liza.ruby2588~this was an assignment from my ethnobotany class, i think it turned out quite nice~
At the edge of the waves, a small tidal pool sat wide and deep. Sand Dollar flitted around the pool happy and quick, eating whatever he wanted. One day though, he noticed that the water was getting a bit warmer and a bit lower. There was also less food then usual.
~A Few Weeks Later~ The water was very low now and the sand dollar moved a little slower, he was a little more sad. Sand Dollar was monitoring his food of quite diligently now a days. One day though, on the other side of the pool he heard a GerPlunk and a little crab splashed into the pool, it floated down to the bottom. The sand dollar scooted over to him and said, 'Hey, where did you come from?' The crab snapped his claws and growled, 'That ol' Gull dropped me when I pinched his legs. How are you doing in here?' the crab asked. 'Well, the water is very low in here, and there is not much food. In fact, I don't think that there is enough for the both of us.' ~The Next Morning~ The sand dollar woke up and noticed the crab had left without saying goodbye. 'Hmmm, what a crabby guy' sand dollar thought to himself. Just then a rumbling wave rushed upon the tidal pool, letting a little splash of water fall into the pool. The sand dollar went about his day, collecting food. But later that night, the sky was bright purple blue with a giant full moon lighting the pool. Just as sand dollar was going to sleep, a new wave of fresh cool water blasted into the pool. 'Ahhhhhhhhh, fresh water, full moon, fresh food. I don't know why I get so nervous every time it happens.' ~And that is how the full Moon saved the Sand Dollar~ © 2011 liza.ruby2588 |
