Beneath the willow trees

Beneath the willow trees

A Poem by Alexandra Elizabeth
"

We'll stay here forever

"

Down a glass of cyanide

We'll stay here forever

Under the willows

whose arms greet us as old lovers

You had all the burns that meant anything

All the loose scars that meant nothing

Lying under the willow trees

Forever 'neath the willow's breeze

And the night gave breathe to your demise

You downed your glass

and were recieved beneath the willow trees

Her roots merged with your bones

Your flesh merged with the earth

And now the grass is over-grown

Soft sun plays across the mound

dances in the willows arms

and grazes over all my scars

You downed your glass

and I was free

But I told you I would join you

And we'll stay here forever

Forever beneath the willow trees
