Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith

A Poem by Alexandra Elizabeth

A sigh-
A glance-
Out a window,
Into the vast unknown.

Heavy eyelids
Fall to the floor,
and what is more;
the world was yours.
They wrote in history-
of runaway wars-
and deadly roads.
But the railroad tracks lead far away,
Meant for tired feet
and souls astray.

A glance
out a window
into the railroad tracks;
far past highway signs.
And what is more
The world was yours.
Could have been-
Should have been-
Yours alone.

A sigh,
A glance,
All you can spare
To fly,
You dream,
But never have the faith to leave.
