This is something that I felt compel to write after visiting the Jersey Wood.

Images From Autumn Woods

I(Driving into the woods)

Staring out my car’s window

into a path entangled with fallen warriors

of the oaks, of the maples, of the Pines,

whose prides stripped away by autumn.

As the wheels motioned,

my window became a film

of documentation of carnages

of these fallen knights

of these silent kingdoms.

In the end,

there was no encore,

except the gossiping of the wind,

and hunting eyes from the sky.

II(Walking in the woods)

My footsteps are like Bernstein,

who conducted a requiem for the warriors

except there is only pianissimo,

with occasional timpani of broken skeletons

from these silent kingdoms,

the pride-depraved kingdoms.
