Poetry

A Poem by amanda
"

A brief amount of lines stating that even though poetry is not written by me 24/7, it helps me cope and understand many things that I sadly have to understand.

"
poetry gives me confirmation
that not all things good, need to be grounded and in place
some can be bumpy or full of headaches
rather proving perfect things are just boring

poetry enters my heart breaking down the wall that has sustained many breaks
there is plenty of comfort in knowing things that have been broken
can still operate

poetry has been there when life was rising like a rollercoaster
and like a rollercoaster
poetry supported me when it was going up, and especially down

Writing is a lifetime journey Amanda and no one is a professional of life. We are born to make mistakes because we are only human. The trick is not letting things you can not control discourage the art you create. Poetry comes from you, both the good and bad parts. You may be young but it doesn't mean your voice and what you have to say is any less than us older folks. Your art is just as important than anyone else's. One of the great poets wrote as a teenager up until he turned 20 and then completely stopped ever writing again. Despite him being so young and immature to the eyes of his peers he became one of the greatest poets to ever live and change poetry in what we see today. So let your heart speak through your words and art. Don't be discouraged by your youth or gender or anything else. Be liberated and free to express to the world who you are as a writer. Some may not like it and that's ok but others will come to respect and admire the artist in you. None of the superficial things truly matter in life, it is what you say and how you choose to live your art that really matters to the world.
