A Part Of Me Is Missing

A Part Of Me Is Missing

A Poem by amanda
"

Learning how to grow and spread your wings and fly is hard enough, but falling and having no one to catch you is worse.

"

Although you see me laughing and smiling through my day

There’s a part of me missing

A part of me floating around in the sky trying to find its way back to me

There are no how-tos in life

No hands reaching effortlessly to help

We are so guided when children

Then one day thrown off the cliff

To fend for ourselves

In a way, we are indeed taught how to swim by being thrown in the water. That's true for everybody. It would be nice if we were issued a how-to manual at birth.

In my opinion, this is well written.
I think so many people who go have been sexually assaulted/sexually abused feel like they are walking around with part of them missing (maybe the most important part). Unfortunately, I know about this too and can relate to your words.
