Safe and Sound.

Safe and Sound.

A Poem by Living Proof.

Neglected, alone, nowhere to go.

Poor little girl is all on her own.

Pick her up before she starts to drown

In her sorrows closed off inside her,

Keep her safe and sound.

Her past is in the past,

It's all said and done.

But to the future ahead,

Changes can be brought.

This is now her chance,

To make something of herself.

Just believe in her,

She'll have a new home,

And finally live safe and sound.

I'm glad you put a happy note on the end of the poem, it wraps the poem together.

I love how you ended it with such hope
"This is now her chance,

To make something of herself.

Just believe in her,

She'll have a new home,

And finally live safe and sound"

it made me take a deep breath and let go a sigh of relief :)

Reads very smoothly and has that tone of hope that can uplift someone when they're down. Perhaps the future holds some sort of promise for excellence?
