The Dragon

The Dragon

A Poem by Jeff Brown

(Betcha can't catch me.)

Midnight sky,
can you let me through?

Taste of the stars,
can I stay with you?

I have dreamed,
in a dream I wasn't in,

of a love
that is always just beyond my hand.

I find that every time I fly
that I cannot break beyond the sky!

My star will always fall,
like the tears of The Dragon,

down from beyond,
is there ever enough magic?

Na-ah-oh.
Na-ah-ah-oh-oh!

I have dreamed,
in a dream I wasn't in

Of star-lit fields
and the most majestic sin

I have seen,
in a sight beyond my own

Holy Lands,
to which I've only almost gone!

Tell me, have you ever tried
to break the stars and pass the sky?

Tell me have you ever found
the love from which you don't come down?

Midnight sky
will you let me through?

Taste of the stars,
may I transcend you?

Break
the sky

Break
the starlight

Break
the sky

Break
into perfect night

Break!
(nirvanna)
the sky

Break!
(nirvanna)
the starlight

Break!
(nirvanna)
the sky

Break into perfect life

(Betcha can't catch me.)
