Inspiration

A Poem by Juliana Morales

Inspiration; I want to enter a new nation
One where we are all kind,
Is this impossible to find?
A place where we are not driven by fear, where people hardly shed a tear.
Inspiration is what motivates us, what we turn to when we are in an internal fuss.
Sometimes I can't help but cuss, in rage that my peers find it hard to trust.
Can I blame them? I'm afraid not, we live in a world where we are taught not to have a care about one another.
Just have fun! Worry about it later, but i fear we cater to procrastination.
The infiltration of our bad habits are real, so real that we begin to feel the after affect they project.
It's tragic that we have grown so a custom to this lifestyle, we are becoming empty.
It tempts me to want to run away, just leave it all behind.
Instead, inspiration holds me tight, her soft voice tells me  "you were born to take on this world, don't go down without a fight."
She kisses me gently, and tells me to listen up.
"You will not run away, you cannot give up, for it is I that will see you through your pain, and award you internal fame."
Inspiration can save us all, just fall for her voice, and you will not regret it at all.

i personally found this poem very interesting. it is a well thought out piece of writing which makes the reader aware of the way we have been socially conditioned. i like the fact that it has an optimistic perspective on life. i don't know whether you did this on purpose or not, but this poem has a peculiar structure which makes it interesting to read. i also like the personification which you give inspiration, it's smart. my favorite line is "Inspiration can save us all, just fall for her voice, and you will not regret it at all." it assures me that even though we are living in an unstable society, having inspiration can help me see the positive side of things.

just a few pointers, i like the rhyme scheme you had going at the beginning, but i feel that you reached a point of focusing too much on the rhyming than the content. and at times your use of big words makes your message to the reader unclear. and you didn't spell "accustomed" correctly. otherwise this is a great poem, i hope to see more of your writing.
