I remember

I remember

A Poem by Juliana Morales

I remember trying to be "normal" once, It ended up with me crying and lying.

I remember trying to be something i'm not, I could barley see the girl I use to be.

I remember loving you as hard as I could, and you thought I would never stand a chance with a girl like you.

I remember the time you looked at me with a new light in your eyes, damn time flies.

It sure has been a while since you last called, you move on so fast i couldn't recall.

I never would have thought my heart would be so stuck on you, the only thing that i can scream is "f**k you."

You push and tug me in different directions, as it feels like everyday is a resurrection.

I need you, I hate you, I put everything on the line for you.

You look at me, I look at you, It may have taken me a moment to realize what kind of real lies were behind those eyes.

I'm back in reality, gravity's holding me tight, and even if i may want to go off on another one of your flights, i'll remember the lights that guided me home.

Now you're nothing but a memory, a thing of the past, when you think back and ask "why didn't we last?"

I'll have the last laugh, and i'll say to you as you said to me once " You're a fool, and I'm way too cool."
