The Kind of Girl She Is

She is not your typical girl, not your average damsel-in-distress,

She is not the kind of sweetheart who will coo at your every sugar-coated line; that chances are she'll whack you straight up in the head if you even dare tell her your lame excuse of a flattery,

She is a lady with pride who chooses to be the one to protect rather than the one to be protected,

She is not like most of those princess-like girls you know who need a knight-in-shining-armor,

She prefers to do all things on her own over relying on anyone else, 

She never even dares pretend to like someone she really doesn't, 

She is never afraid to be left alone, to be hated because of her take-no-prisoners attitude, 

She is refined in no way, and doesn't even try to change, 

She is who she is, and doesn't give a hang about pleasing someone.

Some say she is simple.

Some say she is humble. 

They say for someone who has a reason to show off, she is awfully silent. 

They say she doesn't act all high-and-mighty. 

They say she is easy to get along with if people will only try to know her better. 

Yet they believe she is dense and doesn't know how to feel.

Yet they say she intimidates them. 

Maybe they feel insignificant with a person like her who doesn't use them as a crutch, 

Maybe they are not used to a woman who doesn't cling on them,

But here's a little secret,

She is not exactly as invulnerable as people think she is,

She may not be a damsel-in-distress, but she is a clumsy troublemaker who also needs to be looked after,

She may not be a sweetheart, but she is the kind of person who cherishes all the sincere things you do for her,

She is just a stubborn lady who believes she can always take care of herself, who doesn't want to accept that even the strongest heroes also need savings sometimes. And she's not even a hero.

She doesn't need someone to be pleased with her. No, she needs someone who will understand and accept the real her; someone who wouldn't try to tone her down, reckless as she is.

One of the biggest lies of all is that she is emotionally dense. Of course, she is not. She's been in a rollercoaster ride of emotions after all. But the world doesn't need to know that. Better yet, the people around her will never realize that, because most of them don't have the guts to discover the sensitive character behind her strong personality.
