Icarus, My Darling BoyA Poem by Livy S PalmerPressure on a child to do better than than the parent, to find a riskfuk and tarnished success.
Icarus, my darling boy,
You may one day reach the sky, And touch the sun with your small hands. I hope that it does not burn you. I hope that it is not cruel. I hope that you may feel it's fire, that you may not fall. Please, my darling Icarus, Do not follow me - Leave the maze that is your life, For swailing destiny. I will not let you find me. I will not let you cry. But you must find your fate Through this long missed goodbye. © 2017 Livy S Palmer |
