Icarus, My Darling Boy

Icarus, My Darling Boy

A Poem by Livy S Palmer
"

Pressure on a child to do better than than the parent, to find a riskfuk and tarnished success.

"
Icarus, my darling boy,
You may one day reach the sky,
And touch the sun with your small hands.
I hope that it does not burn you.
I hope that it is not cruel.
I hope that you may feel it's fire,
that you may not fall.

Please, my darling Icarus,
Do not follow me -
Leave the maze that is your life,
For swailing destiny.
I will not let you find me.
I will not let you cry.
But you must find your fate
Through this long missed goodbye.

This is great! It seems like something Ovid could write himself. Having read metamorphoses myself, I enjoyed reading this
