As the last few snowflakes hit the ground

As you give me that final glance

As I break apart without knowing why

Feeling bitter and blue

Even though you were never mine

I wish I’d been able to hold your gaze

However, I was fearful

Afraid to get hit by the sunrays

And I’ve been trying to put these feelings into words

But filling a single page seems to tear me apart these days

How do you mend your heart?

How do I find the missing pieces?

Pieces that aren't mine anymore.
