Smooth CriminalA Chapter by allonsy_doctor"Michael Jackson"She walked into the courtroom and grinned widely. She knew she was right. She knew she could not be shot down. I was thinking the same thing when she walking in. I grinned and mirrored her confidence. There was something in her eyes as she said her side. I said mine. The Jury postponed the grade. I went out for a public dance party. As soon as he got there, everyone stared. He was not welcome here. Everyone knew that. Beside him, a girl. The Defandant. They both stared at me, then he flipped a coin into the jukebox they kept in the corner. Immediately, a hip hop song blared from its speakers and the addendants of the club began to dance. I saw him bend down and ask the girl he was with, my Defendant, Annie, if she was OK. Brimming with confidence, she spotted me and nodded. Annie flounced off to the bar table while her date made himself the center of attention singing and dancing in the middle of a circle. At the bar table, I settled down beside her and asked her what she was doing here. You broke into my house, she said. I wanted payback. He is going to make sure you dont do it again. He's my love. You're boyfriend, I answered tartly, and ordered an Ice Pink from the bartender. What brings you here? Annie asked. The drinks, I put simply, then took a sip of my Ice Pink that had just been slid across the counter. Annie smiled grimly. You're a criminal. She said. You shouldn't be allowed here. You're boyfriend isn't. I growled. He does his down time. She answered with the same tone in her voice as mine. A glint in her eyes told me to back off. You tried to kill me. Oh, God. She was going to THAT subject again. Yeah, so, I answered. You're a criminal. She said again. Again, I answered, so? Annie's boyfriend walked up behind me and knocked me in the ear. The florescent lights of the club whirled dizzily as my head clonked with his fist. Stay away from my girl, he said grimly. Or you'll find yourself in jail. Frick you, I muttered. Annie jumped up and offered a dance. He and her followed me to the dance floor, but I escaped their visions. Up the stairs I went, trying to avoid the stares. But Annie and her boyfriend were already there. I yanked a machine gun and pulled it. One of the old guys with a knife to Annie's shoulder blasted through the wall. I was hit with gaping stares and blank expressions. I shouldered my way through the crowd and shurgged them off. Soon I was in the middle of the dance floor again. The feeling felt so good. Then, I heard Annie's boyfriend. Annie, are you okay? Annie, are you okay? ANNIE, ARE YOU OKAY?! The music began again and I grinned, knowing the poison had taken control. I wanted to kill her, not the old man. I marched up to the couple where they were enduring the last minutes of Annie's life. You said I was a criminal. I am, I said. A Smooth Criminal. I rushed out the doors with a clink in my step and the door shut behind me, then furily guarded by a chinese waitress that was a soon-to-be girlfriend and her brother. © 2009 allonsy_doctorAuthor's Note
