NightA Chapter by allonsy_doctor"Biased performances!" coughed Mr. Negger, pointing to Edward's cousin Fransis and her partner Jane. They were performing their thoughts on the Revloutionary War; in fact playing it out. We had to pick a partner and reinact a part from the orginial scenes of the actual war. "But, sir!" cried Jane was tears melting from her face. She hated being yelled at. "We equally explained both sides of the argument fully, and demonsrated acts of both kindness and mutuality of both the British and the Patriots. We also added bonus for adding the side of the Patroits against the Torys." "Not bonus," Mr. Negger sighed, waving the girls off. "The only points you'll get." Edward and I were next. Of course, he was the only person who appreciated me, so we were naturally partners. Edward went first. "G'moring, Milady. I present the News." I put a hand to my mouth. "My dear man! Get on with it then." Edward smiled, then picked out the paper from his pocket. "The British foriners have invaded our privacy and assumed our homes. They should be dragged out and destroyed immeadiately!!" I gasped, heavying the scarcasm. "That is terrible! They only fight because these foolish 'Americans' fight back!" Mr. Negger sighed contentedly. He had figured out that I was a British Milady turned Tory, angry against the acts and words of the Patroits. "It is only opinion, Milady," Edward told her in a kind voice. "but I seem to agree with them." "How dare you!" I gawked, seeing out of the corner of my eye Mr. Negger writing 100% on our report paper to go with it. "This is America, Milady." he told me. "And if you do not believe me, that is to be thought over." Edward and I joined hands and bowed to the audiance of fellow students. The crowd roared. Mr. Negger clapped. Aparently, he had nothing negitive to say. It was strange holding hands with Edward and not Josh. Strange, yet good feeling. It was that moment that I had discovered that I had developed loving feelings for the only boy, or girl, or even person in this school that was living that accepted me for who I was.

Jane and Fransis congradulated us after. "You guys were great!" Jane laughed. "You got at least 50% better grade than us." "Yeah," Fransis frowned. "Mr. Negger is cruel to those who don't expect it." I laughed for the first time in a while. "Cruel is hardly the word." "Hardly," Edward agreed. "Now, run along to class because we've got to get to our's." After they had left, I turned to him, sparkles in my eyes. "You were magnifisent." I murmured softly. Edward leaned towards me. "And you, Milady, were even better." I took a few paces back, leaning against the wall. Edward approached me, but I put a hand out in front of me. "No," I said. "Not here." I sighed. "Not...ever." "But why?" Edward demanded, slamming his fist angrily on the wall. We were going to be late for class. But now, that didn't matter. "Just because of Josh, right? He's gone now! You said yourself! He's one of them! He'll never be with..." his voice trailed off into a whisper. "you." His word hurt me. A lot. They stung like that time a bee stung me on the shoulder. The sting that Josh helped me treat. Josh. His name lifted my spirits, but just the sight of Edward either lifted them higher, or dampered them. I had mixed feelings for Edward. He was someone who wanted to be with me, no matter what. Josh had given his life as a human for me. I loved both of them unconditionally, unsavoiringly. But I couldn't choose. I could never choose. "Then I will have no one." I answered discusgtedly, hurrying to class.

That night I took a walk. A walk away from everything and anything. I wanted to get away. Away from everything and everything. I think I cried for a long time under the moon before I heard the silightest sound of movement in the bushes. "Edward," I whispered. "Josh?" No one answered. My answer was a rippling roar that echoed through my ears in a chilling way. I bolted for the exit to the South Chicago Park, screaming for help. I wasn't I alone. But I was alone with whoever or whatever was in those bushes. It would get me. It would kill me. I ran straight into Edward. "Oh, my God!" I gasped, edging into his arms. "Ceira," he blurted. "What happened?" "Them!!" I pointed to the briefly moving bushes. I cried out, moving deeper into Edwards protection. This time, if he was attacked, I wouldn't abandon him. Suddenly, a girl with silver hair emerged, smiling. With black lips. And a rather horrifying smile. I screamed, burrying my head in Edward's chest. Edward was stiff and unmoving. "I smell food," she smiled. "We're humans like you," Edward replied quizzically. "That's where you're wrong." She ran at us with inhuman speed, her claws scraping at our skin. Edward cried out, the claws making conact with his shoulder. He was knocked to the ground, our hearts pounding. The creature whipped it's silver hair out of her eyes. They were bloodred. She sighed. "Restrictions, restrictions." she said, annoyed. "I know, I know, Joshy." Joshy? She knew Josh. That's when I saw it. A creature emerged out of the bushes. Josh. "OhmyGod." I gasped. "Josh Parahn." Josh's shoulders relaxed, his bloodred eyes easing. "Aw...family reunion." the silver haired girl said. To me, she said, "Too bad that he can't talk to you without drinking your blood." "Josh..." I whispered. "You're not a monster." "So," Josh said in a monstery, strained voice. "You found another?" "Boyfriend," I said through clenched teeth. "No." The sliver haired girl chuckled. "Comeon, Joshy." she laughed. "Let's go hunt elsewhere." "JOSH!!!" I screamed, awakening Edward. But Josh and the silver haired girl were already gone. "Do you know what those were?" Edward asked me. "No, do you?" I replied through clenched teeth. "Vampyres, the most dangerous kind of Vampire." Edward answered. "And your boyfriend's one of them." © 2009 allonsy_doctorAuthor's Note
