Some AnimalA Chapter by allonsy_doctorI heard a rumble in the woods. They ran past me. I knew of their speed. They were thirsty. They needed blood. They needed me. He leapt in front of me. He protected me. He was ahead of me. He ran faster. He ran at inhuman speed. I was crying. I wanted him to live. But he was giving his life for mine. An unfair trade. I screamed as one tried to swipe at me. It got some of my hair. The visious creatures slunk back into the darkness, knowing it was hopeless. Then a ruthless one leapt atop him and brought him to the ground. It bit his collar bone. His fleshy neck. He screamed. I backed away, pain blossoming inside me. The creature back away. There was blood on it's black lips. It grinned, then threw back it head in a uncontrolable laugh. I looked down on his fallen body. He was gone. All that was left was blood. I turned and ran.

I rushed into the police station, on the verge of hysterarics. I burst into shuddering sobs as I reached the front desk. The police man caught me. "Woah," he cried as my weighted body dragged down on him. "He's one of them!" I cried out. "He's gone! He's not human!" The blood from when it swiped me on my shoulder burned. It was the poision. It was tourture me. It wouldn't kill me. It dripped down my sleeve. I was still hysterical when the officer sat me down on a leather seat and faced me with a serious face. "Who's he?" the officer questioned. "What happened to you?" I shuddered to a stop. Forcedly, I hulped out, "My boyfriend. Josh Parahn. He's one of them," I shuddered a sob. "And they attacked me." "Who are they?" "I'm...I'm not sure..." I studdered. "They're some kind of human animal, with pale faces and long fangs. They have black lips and a curving smile. They drink blood. They're..." I gritted my teeth anxiously. "Not Human." The officer, suprisingly, let out a booming laugh. "You've discribed a vampire!" he grinned. "And their imaginary. Anyway," he looked serious again. "What was you're boyfriend's name again?" "Josh," "Where do you live?" "New York's streets. We're homeless." The officer scratched his chin. "Alright then." he paused, then said, "This is Chicago. You're going to live here for a few months until they find you're parents and your 'un-human' boyfriend." I was silent as the other lesser officers took me away.

A week later I was settled into my new "home". The officer that helped me, Officer Greenland, had inferred that "some kind of animal" had attacked me, and I had just hit my head and dreamt all the "vampire" nonsense. He kept me posted; they were going to find the animal, kill it, then "rescue" Josh. It finally came to this. My first, real day of Middle School. I knew I was fourteen, and when I joined eighth grade there, I joined in the middle of the third trimester. Perfect. As I walked in everyone began staring at me. They whispered "freak" and "weirdo" under their breaths. Some gasped at the gouge in my shoulder. The one that "some kind of animal" made. The one that destroyed my boyfriend's human shell and soul and transformed it into them. Whatever they were. I sat down in class and I immeadiately hated it. Before the teacher could enter, I bolted out the nearest open window and exited stealthlly. They wouldn't find me. I never wanted to go back there. Then, I saw their red eyes. At least ten of them, staring at me. From the forest. I screamed, a pircing sound that lead them away. But their bloodthristy scents still remained. I ran "home".

They made me go back. As I suspected, they were waiting for me at my "house". The government made me go. They wanted me to catch up on all the knowledge I lost when I was homeless. I told them no. Fourty times at least. They didn't listen. They never listened. It was their schemes. It was their plans (from Billy Jean the song by Michael Jackson). She was not part of their schedule book planning systems. I was sitting in my first class of this new day, English, when a rather cute boy came up to me. "Hey," he grinned, a glow suddenly filling the room. "What's you're name?" "Classified," "Well, hello, Classified, my name is Edward." "Edward Cullen?" "Edward" laughed. "So, you're a Twilight Fan?" "No," I answered simply. "When Josh and I were on the streets, I saw a few girls laughing and freaking out how hot 'Edward Cullen' was. So when you said, 'Edward', I remembered the girls." I added, "What's Twilight?" Edwarded chuckled. "It's a familiarly popular series. I suprised you haven't heard of it." "Before he became inhuman, we lived on the streets." "Who?" "Josh." "Josh who? And what is he...inhuman?" "Joshua Parahn. He's inhuman. Yeah," Edward looked puzzled. "You seem...bothered." "Yeah," I practally screamed at him. "He's my freaking boyfriend! He's one of them!! And no one believes me!!!" Edward stepped back a bit. "I'm sorry..." he appologized softly. "I didn't..." "It's okay," he was the first nice person I'd met before Josh became inhuman, and I didn't want to lose him. "do you...believe me?" He nodded. "Why would you lie to me?" I smiled. "So," he asked. "Class doesn't start till a few. Wanna tell me about you're inhuman friend?" I nodded and began.
