Fairy-tales vs Reality

Fairy-tales vs Reality

A Poem by Livenrite

Life is no fairy-tale
it's all that we hear
when we're no longer children
with reality unclear

Cinderella? there's no prince!
now snap out of it!
Sleeping Beauty? You wish!
Slumber's no bottomless pit

Life is a beeping heart-rate
with constant ups and downs
don't over think a flat-line
is that a fortunate sound

Your'e silly to ever think
that there's no forbidden fruit
lest you taste the poison
all through the apple tree root

Without the antagonist
there can never be a plot
without a hero's death
a story might just rot

Life is no fairy-tale
this is no consolation
but our happily ever after
is in our imagination
