9/11

Written on 9/15...written for a day we will never forget.

An ordinary day

became significant

when planes crashed

destroying the Twin Towers

the beauty of a city.

Many were trapped

lit up with the flames

and jumped to their death

together with ash rain.

As everyone ran out

Firefighters ran in

lives flashed before eyes

every memory every sin .

The city crashed.

Parents were killed

children became orphans

Politicians left baffled...

or not?

Terrorists celebrated

"victory to Islam!"

Bush told us:

"We are heard,

the terrorists will hear us"

and our torturous cry

Can be heard

to those we lost

buried in the rubble.

9/11, the day we mourn

As Patriotism rose

into the hearts of Americans

"United We Stand"

as our flag was raised

we became strong

we knew we will prevail.
